Our Step-By-Step Process

1. 01 Step 1

   Stop, Secure, And Contain

   First call: stop using every water fixture in the house, because each flush and each sink adds to the backup. Do not walk through the affected area and do not try to clean it. When we arrive we establish containment around the affected zone, seal HVAC registers, and set HEPA-filtered negative air before removal starts. We identify whether the backup came from your lateral, a main line issue, or a fixture failure, which matters for both repair and insurance. Anyone in the household with a compromised immune system, and any small children, should be out of the house.

2. 02 Step 2

   Extraction And Solids Removal

   Sewage and solids get extracted with dedicated equipment that never touches a clean-water job. Contents in the zone get triaged: hard non-porous items can be cleaned and salvaged, anything absorbent that took contact is documented, photographed, and disposed of. We are direct with you about the losses here, textiles, upholstered furniture, mattresses, and particleboard furniture that absorbed Category 3 water are not worth saving, and no responsible company will tell you otherwise.

3. 03 Step 3

   Contaminated Material Removal

   Carpet and pad come out. Drywall gets cut above the contamination line. Wet insulation comes out. Affected particleboard cabinetry and toe-kicks come out. If it reached the crawl space, contaminated soil and vapor barrier get removed and the underside of the subfloor gets addressed. Everything is bagged inside containment and disposed of per regulation. All of it is photographed and logged first, because your carrier pays against documentation.

4. 04 Step 4

   Cleaning And Antimicrobial Treatment

   Every remaining surface the water touched gets mechanically cleaned, then treated with an EPA-registered antimicrobial rated for this application. That includes framing, subfloor, slab, the interior of wall cavities, and the underside of the floor system if the crawl space was involved. Fogging alone is not treatment, surfaces get physically cleaned first. Air scrubbers with HEPA and carbon run throughout to handle both particulate and odor.

5. 05 Step 5

   Drying, Verification, And Handoff

   Once the space is clean and treated, structural drying runs with daily moisture logs to documented dry standard, exactly as on any water loss. We verify the space before closing anything, and on larger losses we bring in third-party clearance testing. Repairs are handled by your own contractor. You get the full documentation file: photos, disposal records, moisture logs, a written removal scope, and the Xactimate estimate, so whoever rebuilds is working from evidence rather than assumption.
